Maya is a Bilingual Spanish Speaking, Licensed Acupuncturist in the State of Oregon.

She received her B.S. in Exercise Science at Southern Connecticut State University, where she focused her studies in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, Nutrition, and Sports Psychology.  After receiving her ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) Certification in Exercise Physiology; she became a Personal Trainer and practiced as an Exercise Specialist for 8 years in various clinical settings across the country.  She helped many patients rehab their Sports and Personal Injuries with exercise and nutritional guidance.

Why Acupuncture?

While practicing in various integrated facilities she witnessed many patients getting profound results with acupuncture. Patients boosted the benefits of acupuncture as pain relief, improved range of motion, decreased inflammation, and return to normal activities.  Patient’s results became an inspiration for her to continue her health education path in the field of acupuncture.

In 2010 Maya moved to Portland, OR to attend the country’s top Traditional Chinese Medicine program, at OCOM (Oregon College of Oriental Medicine) earning a Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, 2014.

Maya is an extreme athlete. This has given Maya a unique look at injuries sustained by Climbers, Mountaineers, Surfers, and Bikers, with over 20 years of rock climbing. Maya has been pushing herself to overcome any problem she has faced. Maya has enjoyed surfing for over 20 years.

Maya has successfully summited 4 peaks: Mt. Hood, Mt. Adams, Mount St. Helens, and The South Sister. In total, 5 summits. When Maya is not on top of a mountain, she also enjoys world travel.

To say that this is the best acupuncture clinic in SE Portland would be an understatement. My experience is with Lauren Love LAc, who works in the clinic with Maya. Lauren is an incredible listener and really has an extra special gift of healing people! Her loving, fun, intuitive, and intelligent approach to acupuncture makes one feel as if they are her only client. I have not only personally experienced her healing expertise, but I brought a 93 year old fragile family member, and Lauren was not afraid to take on a very difficult case. No matter what your ailment is, I know that Lauren can help you! I cannot say enough good things about her skills with acupuncture and her ability to provide thorough healing, utilizing her expertise in "Pulse Therapy". I highly recommend Lauren and know that she specializes in Sciatica Nerve and pain issues. She is also well versed in "Cupping" treatments. Everyone needs to experience Lauren Love LAc!

OMG - I was so fortunate to find Maya! Back a few years ago I had nerve damage to my hand and she was one of very few Acupuncturists willing to take OHP Care Oregon Insurance!
